At this year's CES, Samsung committed to improving the ecosystem of its devices and the connectivity between different devices through the SmartThings smart home platform. As part of its new strategy, it has now started rolling out a major update to the SmartThings app on the watch Galaxy Watch. The update brings more convenient control of connected devices from the user's wrist.

Latest update for SmartThings app (version 1.1.08) for watch Galaxy Watch brings several major improvements and new features. First, users can now Galaxy Watch access the application by swiping right from the watch face.

And secondly, the users Galaxy Watch they can now control multiple Samsung and third-party devices, including a smart tag Smart Tag, air purifiers, thermostats and window blinds. Until now, these categories of devices could only be controlled via the SmartThings app on smartphones.

Thanks to the new update, users can now Galaxy Watch live stream home and doorbell cameras from Next and Ring cameras (with WebRTC technology support) directly to your wrist. They can also use Galaxy Watch to talk to guests remotely.

And last but not least, users can now Galaxy Watch remotely control connected smart TVs through the newly added Device-to-Device (D2D) function. It specifically works with BT HID-enabled Samsung Smart TVs and requires the devices to be within Bluetooth range.

The latest SmartThings app update is available for models Galaxy Watch running on the operating system Wear OS, that is Galaxy Watch4, Galaxy Watch4 Classic, Galaxy Watch5 a Galaxy Watch5 Pro.
