Over the past year or so, Google has implemented a tablet-optimized user interface into several apps. In addition, the software giant has also promoted third-party apps that have been given a user interface optimized for large screens. The latest app that Google is highlighting is TikTok, which recently came with a landscape mode for tablets.

As noticed by the web 9to5Google, the Google Play Store is promoting landscape mode for tablets on its TikTok banner. The banner says "Flip your tablet for TikTok", but the mode also works on flip phones like Galaxy ZFold4. The video in this mode takes up more than half of the screen, while the comments section is located on the right. The comments section can be minimized by clicking the right-pointing arrow icon.

The new mode has a navigation bar on the left side of the screen with four tabs: Home, Friends, Inbox and Profile. It is worth noting that Samsung participated in the development of the mode, and that it debuted not on tablets, but on jigsaws of the series Galaxy From the Fold.

Apps that have received an optimized user interface for large screens from Google include Discover, Google Keep, Google One, and YouTube. More apps should be updated this way in the future, including those from third-party developers.
