On February 1, Samsung has planned the first and probably the biggest event of the year. He will present us not only a series Galaxy S23, but we also expect a new portfolio of its laptops. Quite possibly the first laptop with a touchscreen OLED display awaits us.

Samsung is reportedly ready to begin mass production of OLED panels for laptops that integrate touch sensors directly into its panel. Her debut is currently expected at the event Galaxy Unpacked next week. The panels use OCTA (on-cell touch AMOLED) technology, which allows them to be thinner than solutions using a separate touch panel film, which Samsung will be the first to use in the case of a laptop.

So far, these panels have only been used in smartphones like the range Galaxy With Samsung, but of course also in iPhonech Apple. The sizes are expected to be 13 and 16 inches, the displays are also expected to support 3K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It is quite likely that the frequency will be adaptive.

Even if it will Galaxy The Samsung Book will be the first to receive such a panel, so Samsung, as a display manufacturer, will of course sell it to other companies as well. Apple could introduce the first OLED MacBook as early as next year, but most likely without a touch layer, because it still does not want to unite the world of Macs with iPads. However, Samsung is also developing specific types of OLED displays that Apple plans to use in upcoming iPad Pro models.

Unlike LCD displays with mini-LED diodes (which Apple used in MacBooks Pro) OLED displays have self-emitting pixels that do not require backlighting, which would, for example, provide MacBooks with an even better contrast ratio and allow them to have a longer battery life. So, if the American manufacturer comes with its touchscreen MacBook, it is not expected to be before 2025. Even if we can be excited about Samsung's new technology in its notebooks, we still have to keep in mind that here its laptops officially we don't buy. However, it does not mean that something will not change with their introduction. We would definitely be happy for that.
