WhatsApp has become synonymous with instant messaging in much of the world. Last year, it received a whole host of new features, including a raise number group chat participants, quick responses by all emoticons or carrying History cottages from Androidu na iPhone. Now another novelty is about to be added to it, this time it concerns photos.

According to a WhatsApp specialized website BetaInfo the app is working on a new feature that will allow users to share "original quality photos" without any compression. The website discovered this feature in the latest beta version of WhatsApp (2.23.2.11) for Android. When sharing images, a new Settings icon will appear in the top left. Click on it to display the Photo Quality option. Tapping this option will allow you to share photos in high quality. The new feature will most likely not be available for videos.

Currently, users can choose Auto (recommended), Economy Upload, or Highest Quality when sharing photos. However, the difference between the last two modes is very small. Interestingly, images shared in the latter mode are sent at a resolution of 0,9 MPx, while those sent in the highest quality have a resolution of 1,4 MPx. Photos of such low quality are useless in today's world. It's not clear at the moment when the new feature will be available to everyone, but we shouldn't have to wait long.
