As you may have noticed, Google released the first developer preview Androidat 14. That apart another brings back the ability to view screen time in battery usage statistics.

Google has redesigned the battery usage statistics screen in Androidat 12, which change led to considerable confusion. Instead of showing battery usage since the last full charge, the software giant showed statistics based on the last 24 hours.

Later updates reversed this change, with the update Android 13QPR1 brought a change to Pixel phones that shows stats from the last full charge instead of the last 24 hours. But even so, it was still somewhat difficult to see screen time, which many users use as a key metric to determine how long their phone will last under active use. (Of course, there are a number of other factors that contribute to battery life, but the screen time display is useful nonetheless.)

Google in the first developer preview Androidu 14 added a clearly visible section to the battery usage page Screen time since last full charge (time spent on screen since last full charge). While this may seem like a small thing, many users will certainly find this change welcome.

The new page also now has a drop-down menu to view battery usage by apps or system elements. This is technically unchanged from previous versions, but the drop-down menu does a little better at showing how to switch between the two sections.
