When Samsung introduced the smart watch Galaxy Watch5 a Watch5 Pro, promised to support monitoring of body temperature, but the function was not fully developed until this time (or rather, the relevant sensor was used for other purposes). Now the Korean giant has announced its arrival, including in the Czech Republic.

Body temperature monitoring can be a very useful part of wearable electronics. A device that supports this feature can provide a user with an overview of their health patterns and help determine whether they are sick or not. It can also provide users with a lot of valuable information about their menstrual cycle, as body temperature is its main indicator.

Samsung he announced, that the temperature sensor on Galaxy Watch5 to Watch5 Pro will be unlocked and used just to track your menstrual cycle. For this, the Cycle Tracking function in the Samsung Health application, which was recently approved by the South Korean Food and Drug Administration, will be used. Cycle Tracking will use the same algorithm on the watch as the third-party Natural Cycles app. Using an infrared skin temperature sensor, this function will be able to process informace about the menstrual cycle as well as basic data about skin temperature.

New body temperature monitoring function for the series Galaxy Watch5 will arrive in the second quarter of this year. In addition to the Czech Republic and South Korea, it will be available in another 30 countries, including Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, France, Italy, Switzerlandcarska, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, the Baltic states, Great Britain or the USA.
