The line just came in today Galaxy S23 for official sale. My basic model Galaxy We've been troubling the S23 in the newsroom for a while now, so we can bring you the first big look at its photography skills.

Perhaps the biggest change that Samsung made to the model Galaxy What the S23 did in terms of cameras is the design of the entire model. In terms of specifications, not much happened here. But he has clearly worked on software that should help take even better pictures than in the past.

  • Ultra wide camera: 12 MPx , f2,2, angle of view 120 degrees
  • Wide angle camera: 50 MPx, f1,8, angle of view 85 degrees
  • Telephoto lens: 10 MPx, 3x optical zoom, f2,4, angle of view 36 degrees
  • Front camera: 12 MPx, f2,2, angle of view 80 degrees

The depth of field here is great for a wide-angle camera, and if you hit the distance perfectly, you can also enjoy great macro shots. The zoom range is more classic, i.e. 0,6x, 1x and 3x, then follows the digital zoom, which can be graduated to 10x, 20x or 30x. Of course, don't expect miracles from it. The first set of photos in the gallery below shows the entire range from 0,6x to 30x zoom, the others only present the maximum zoom. Here, compared to the Ultra model, there are clear reserves. By the way, he can zoom up to 100x.

Even if the weather in mid-February does not exactly favor us for some pleasant photos, the qualities of the telephoto lens can still be shown here. It is in it that Samsung has s Galaxy The S23 has a big advantage over competing entry-level iPhones, which completely ignore the telephoto lens and only offer the wide-angle one accompanied by an ultra-wide-angle one. It's just fun to take pictures with the telephoto lens and it doesn't really matter that it only has 10 MPx. In low light conditions, however, you should still rather ignore it, but even more so.

You can still take portraits at 1x or 3x zoom, with the first one being better because it uses a wide-angle camera, but the ones with a telephoto lens are more pleasing simply because you get closer. While it's still getting better, Portrait mode just keeps having problems, especially with animal hair. The selfie camera jumped from 10 to 12 MPx and the results it delivers are more or less unqualified. It still applies here that you can zoom out the scene slightly to accommodate more people.

It's pretty incredible what the software can do with night mode. Below you can see sample images from all three lenses, with the gallery sorted by form ultra wide angle, wide angle and tele lens. You can clearly see that the first and the last are rather worth ignoring in night photos, however, the wide angle can give great results in ideal light. On the other hand, it adds extreme color and the resulting photo absolutely does not correspond to reality. But it is true that at least you see something in her.

Galaxy The S23 is not supposed to be a photographic top, but it still has the prerequisites to provide really high-quality results. It is ideal for daytime and regular photography, but in the case of night photos you have to take into account that it has reserves. If you want more, you just have to reach for it Galaxy S23 Ultra.
