Samsung aims to spread the popularity of flexible phones around the world through the series Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip. But he also has a similar vision for flexible displays for other devices. Its display division, Samsung Display, wants the foldable technology to eventually be used by various devices across the tech world.

This idea is not new, as Samsung Display has been experimenting with various folding panels for a long time. Now, during a presentation at the Korea Display Industry Association's Display Technology Blueprint event, the company has reiterated its desire to have flexible displays in devices such as tablets, laptops and monitors.

During a recent presentation at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Samsung Display Vice President Sung-Chan Jo explained that mobile phones used to be like heavy bricks. However, they have become thinner and lighter over time, and flexible phones continue this trend by allowing larger screens in smaller dimensions. After foldable smartphones, foldable laptops should be next in line. Apparently, Samsung has been working on a foldable laptop since at least the year before last. Last year, he revealed the concepts of such a device to the world in order to get his vision to the fans.

It is currently unknown when the Korean giant could introduce its first flexible laptop. However, some analysts expect it to be this year.
