Samsung's Bixby voice assistant has always been derided compared to Google Assistant, but the Korean giant has added a number of really useful features to it in recent years. Now for him he announced a major update that focuses on voice and text interactions.

The new update for Bixby brings two big news. One of them is Bixby Text Call for English-speaking markets. First introduced last year in South Korea, the feature allows users to answer calls and have Bixby speak to the caller based on the user's text input. The feature also turns the caller's voice into text output that you can read. Apart from some accessibility apps, it seems to be useful in cases where you don't feel like talking on the phone.

The second feature is Bixby Custom Voice Creator, which uses artificial intelligence to clone your voice. The feature takes a few sentences that the user says out loud, and Bixby can then use them to create sentences using your voice and tone. Sounds great, but for now this feature is limited to Korean only.

The new update also adds support for custom wake words (currently the default is "Hi Bixby") and improves the ability to play music based on the current scenario, such as exercise. Samsung will start releasing it by the end of the month. But we have to let the taste go for now.
