Samsung has a huge lead over its competitors in the foldable smartphone market. Last year, the Korean giant shipped more jigsaw puzzles than all other manufacturers combined. With reference to a report from the Financial Times, the website reported about it SamMobile.

According to the report, the global flexible phone market will see 2022 million shipments in 14,2. Of course, Samsung had by far the largest share of these deliveries. Specifically, it shipped less than 12 million folding devices to the market.

The former smartphone giant Huawei came in second with less than two million puzzles. Other Chinese manufacturers - Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi and Honor - each shipped less than 1 million "benders". Last in the order was Motorola with roughly 40 Razr clamshells. Next to Samsung, this number looks ridiculous.

As for the jigsaw market as such, it appears to be doing relatively well, even though the fourth quarter of last year was the first ever to see a drop in shipments. However, 2022 was the worst year ever for smartphones, whether flexible or regular. Even so, annual shipments of flexible phones increased year-on-year. The FT report estimates that their shipments will double to 30 million this year.

That sounds like a realistic estimate given that Samsung is aiming to ship around 15 million to the global market Galaxy From Fold4 and Z Foldu3. It may not reach this goal until August or September, when they were supposed to be introduced ZFold5 a Z-Flip5, however, next-generation jigsaws will likely help the Korean giant reach its goal by the end of this year.
