Facebook is neither dead nor dying, it is actually alive and thriving with 2 billion daily active users. Meta released a new one press release, in which, among other things, it informs that we will no longer need its Messenger to communicate with each other on Facebook.

Private conversations are a significant way people share and connect in Meta apps. Currently, more than 140 billion messages are sent in them daily. On Instagram, people already share Reels almost a billion times a day via DM, and it's growing on Facebook too. Therefore, the network is already testing the possibility for people to have access to their inbox in the Messenger application and only within the Facebook application. This testing is soon to expand further before it goes live. However, Meta did not say when, nor did it provide any graphic previews.

Last year, Facebook introduced community chats to some of its groups as a way for people to connect more deeply with their online communities in real time around topics they care about. According to data across Facebook and Messenger, December 2022 saw a 50% increase in the number of people trying these community chats. So the trend is clear, and it is about communication.

So the goal is to create more ways to integrate messaging features into Facebook. Ultimately, Meta wants to make it easy and convenient for people to connect with each other and share content, whether on Messenger or directly on Facebook. It has been 9 years since the two platforms, i.e. Facebook and Messenger, separated.
