As you may recall, Google launched the supported Pixel phones last month first developer preview Androidat 14. He released his second developer preview for almost exactly a month. If you want to know what's new, read on.

Android 14 Rather than new features, DP2 improves application behavior and compatibility, and brings some security, privacy, and system performance improvements. In a new developer preview, Google continues to integrate the Credential Manager application programming interface (API), with support now extending to the system Android 4.4. This feature, which the software giant introduced in an alpha version last month, applies to any informace about the account saved via Google ID (that is, the email for the Google account). Google sees it as a gateway to a password-free future.

Latest build Androidu 14 also focuses on system performance, improving it with better memory management and notifications. Specifically, it does not allow cached applications to run in the background outside of specific API lifecycles faster than Android 13, which Google says is supposed to improve battery life and resource usage. The company also promises fewer uncancellable notifications, where users can now remove notifications marked as an ongoing event after unlocking their device.

In addition, Google improved the language settings by adding regional preferences to it, which allows anyone traveling to set specific temperature units, numbering system and the first day of the week, even outside of their home country. Another new feature is an improved media player animation on the lock screen where the player scrolls down before being accessible. A minor change also applies to the player's controls - when interacting with them, the user will now see an animation in the form of a glowing wave that passes through the player from right to left.

Last but not least Android 14 DP2 brings a full-screen preview of the wallpaper, a tool for creating wallpapers called Emoji Lab or a flash notification function that will allow Pixel owners to imitate the notification LED diode, which we practically do not see in phones today, as it has been replaced by the Always-on Display function (but some may miss ). Google as previously posted schedule no more developer previews Androidwill not release u 14, instead it should start releasing its beta versions from next month (which should also apply to other androiddevices rather than just Pixels). Stable version Androidu 14 will apparently be released in August.
