Samsung has officially launched the new models of the series Galaxy A. As journalists, we had access to their performance, which took place already on Monday, March 13. So we were able to get our hands on them and try them out, and here are our first impressions of the top-of-the-line model, which Galaxy A54 5G.
The highest built model of the series Galaxy And it shows the right step of how the technologies should be from the highest models, i.e. the series Galaxy S, take over to the lower ranks. But with regard to the current one Galaxy S23 is perhaps too much. Yes, there are differences here, but it may be too difficult for an uninformed user to tell if he is actually holding one in his hand Galaxy S23+ or Galaxy A54 5G. It is of course a plus for a less equipped model, but it somewhat degrades one that costs twice as much.
Glass and a trio of cameras
The only drawback, which may bother you at first glance, is the plastic frame. Last year's generation also had it, but it was shiny, which is why it evoked more aluminum, which confused many people as to whether it was really just plastic used here. This year, there is no doubt about it, because the plastic is matte and resembles more basic aluminum iPhoneugh, when you touch it, it's clear that it's not aluminum, no matter what color you hold in your hand - graphite, white, lime or purple. All of them are quite pleasant and it is really hard to find differences between the white one and the cream one in S23. Of course, there are no strips to shield the antennas when the frame is plastic.

But Samsung tried its best Galaxy A54 5G to make a truly more premium device not with a frame, but with a glass back panel. The glass here carries the Gorilla Glass 5 specification and does not perform any function other than the visual one. Wireless charging is still not present. The back side then looks identical to that of u Galaxy S23. There is also a trio of cameras, which is also lined with a steel ring so you don't damage them.

It's incredible how similar the two models are, and even though you can see on the lenses that they're not up to the quality of the S series, it looks damn good. We couldn't take photos, the device still had pre-production software, so observations about the quality of the photos will come only with the review. It doesn't matter that the depth camera went out, the main thing is that the quality of the photos improved when Galaxy For example, the S54 5G can automatically activate night mode.

The display looks very nice and everything here has great smooth animations. Because there is One UI 5.1 built on Androidat 13 it is clear what to expect from the system. But the display now has a 120Hz refresh rate, which adaptively changes with the 60Hz (the previous generation only had a fixed 120Hz). Although there is no difference between, it will still help the middle class a lot in terms of overall perception and battery life, which is still 5000mAh, but with the optimization of the chip (Exynos 1380) it can handle two days of normal use without a problem (allegedly).

It may surprise you that the display has a diagonal of only 6,4", which is less than last year's A53 5G model, but believe me you wouldn't know it. Thanks to the brightness raised to 1000 nits, the device will be more usable even in direct sunlight. These are good values in the given price range. The sound improved, eSIM was added. There is of course more news, but for everything we have to wait for a more comprehensive test, which cannot replace the few moments during the presentation.
But the truth is that Galaxy The A54 5G left really positive impressions, when it actually lacks only the aluminum frame and the presence of wireless charging for imaginary perfection. But that would affect not only the price, but also the cannibalization of its own portfolio, which Samsung logically does not want. The price is already quite high, because the 128GB version starts at 11 CZK and the 999GB version at 256 CZK. But Samsung is on the right track, and the glass will clearly please and differentiate.
