Samsung introduced its new flagships in February Galaxy S23, has now brought new mid-range phones to the scene Galaxy A54 5G a Galaxy A34 5G. The Korean giant's next "big thing" to unveil this year is new foldable smartphones, namely Galaxy From Fold5 a Galaxy From Flip5.

Although it is Galaxy Flip4 is a fantastic device and a sales hit, it is still a long way from perfection, and in addition, it faces quite capable competition from companies such as Oppo, Motorola or Huawei. Here are 5 things and improvements that could push the next Z Flip to perfection.

Larger external display

External display Galaxy The Z Flip4 is great and allows users to access a number of features without opening the phone. For example, you can use it to take selfies, display notifications or control music. While it can handle quite a bit, it is limited by its small size.

Its size is only 1,9 inches, which makes it smaller than the external screens of the flexible clamshells from Motorola and Oppo. Last year's Motorola Razr 2022 is equipped - like its predecessor - with a 2,7-inch panel and recently introduced Oppo Find N2 Flip even a 3,26-inch display. Samsung seems to be aware of this shortcoming and will make the external display of the Z Flip 5 quite dramatically larger. Specifically, at least 3 inches is speculated.

Samsung could also work on the software. Users can interact with the external display of the current Z Flip mainly through various widgets, while the aforementioned Razr 2022 allows you to do almost the same thing on it as on the main screen.

Bigger battery

One objective shortcoming of the Z Flip4 is its relatively small battery. With a capacity of 3700 mAh, it certainly cannot break records in endurance. In fact, battery life is quite decent (the phone lasts at least a day on a single charge), thanks to the power efficiency of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. However, new flip phones like the aforementioned Find N2 Flip have larger batteries, so we'd appreciate Flip5 followed this trend. If Samsung really increases the external display on it, it would make sense to increase the battery capacity as well.

A better camera

Another improvement we could imagine for the Z Flip5 is a better photo composition. The Z Flip 4 is not bad, but it is not enough for the top. Specifically, it consists of a 12MPx main camera and a 12MPx ultra-wide-angle sensor. Its main camera is essentially the same sensor found in two-year-old flagships Galaxy S21 and S21+. In addition to increasing the resolution of the main camera, Samsung could add a telephoto lens to the photo setup of the next Z Flip, which does not yet have a folding clamshell on the market, and which would give the Z Flip5 a big competitive advantage.

A less visible (or ideally no) groove in the bend of the display

Samsung has had years to improve the folding display and hinge to reduce the notch in the flexible display. However, it is still quite visible in the Z Flip series models compared to the Z Fold series models. In addition, the Z Flip phones cannot be closed completely, leaving part of the display exposed when folded, which is somewhat counterintuitive for this type of device. The good news is that according to leaks from reliable sources, the Z Flip5 will feature a new hinge design that should minimize the notch in the flexible display and make it possible to fully close it.

Dust resistance

Our last wish is that the next Z Flip gets dust resistance. As you may know Galaxy Both Z Flip4 and Z Flip3 already have water resistance according to the IPX8 standard. It can be assumed that water resistance according to this or a higher standard will not be limited to Samsung's flexible clamshells in the future, which should go further and make the Z Flip5 dustproof. This was apparently not possible with the existing Z Flip models due to the design of the hinge, but given that the next Fold is expected to have a new hinge, it's something quite conceivable.
