This week, Nothing introduced the new Ear (2) wireless headphones. Their specs are very good, but how do they fare against direct competition in the form of Samsung's current flagship headphones Galaxy Buds2 Pro? Let's compare both headphones nicely.

The Ear (2) headphones are equipped with an 11,6mm dynamic driver, which promises to "transport the user to the recording studio". Galaxy The Buds2 Pro are not far behind in this area, offering a 10mm driver tuned by Samsung subsidiary AKG. Both headphones support 24-bit Hi-Fi audio, so they should be comparable in terms of sound quality. However, Samsung headphones have a bit of an upper hand here, as they support 360-degree sound.

Both headphones have ANC (active noise cancellation) and transparent mode. With ANC, the Nothing headphones are able to dampen sound up to 40 dB, while the Samsung headphones can do it up to 33 dB. Ear (2) also boasts an adaptive mode for ANC. As for battery life, the Nothing headphones last 6,3 hours on a single charge (without ANC on) and 36 hours with the charging case. With ANC on, it lasts 4/22,5 hours. Galaxy Buds2 Pro lasts 8/30 hours on a single charge without ANC, 5 hours with ANC on. In this area, the headphones of the Korean giant are doing a little better.

However, the Nothing headphones have the advantage of being slightly more resistant – they meet the IP54 standard, which means they are protected against the ingress of dust, solid objects and splashing water from any angle, while the Samsung headphones are IPX7 certified, i.e. they are only protected against splashing water from any angle and have no protection against dust.

We end our comparison with the price. Samsung sells its headphones for CZK 5 (however, you can get them more than CZK 690 cheaper in Czech stores), Nothing for CZK 2. In this direction, the forces are balanced. Of course, we will leave it up to you which of them you should prefer. Both have comparable sound quality, so it depends on what other requirements you have for the headphones, whether you want a longer battery life, more effective ANC or perhaps an original design. In this regard, they have the advantage of Ear (3) because as "one" they are transparent, which looks really good. However, some people may not like such a "revealing" design. So again – it's up to your preference.
