The line has been on sale for several weeks Galaxy S23. Although some may say that vs Galaxy S22 does not bring major news, it is global a hit. It is definitely the best phone in the series S23Ultra. However, we can't help but feel that Samsung played it a bit safe with the new range and left a lot of room for improvement. Here are 5 things we'd like to see in the line Galaxy S24, although we will have to wait a long time for it.

Faster charging

If there's room for improvement for Samsung, it's most certainly in the area of charging. Basic Galaxy The S23, like its predecessor, can only handle 25W charging. Such a charging speed is already completely insufficient today – it takes around 70 minutes to fully charge the phone. The "plus" and the highest model support - again like their predecessors - 45W charging. Even though it is almost double the value, in practice their charging is only slightly faster, namely by about a quarter of an hour.

Samsung should really do something about this, because the competition in this area is already much further. For example, Xiaomi or Realme offer phones that support 200W+ charging and that charge from zero to one hundred in "plus or minus" 15 minutes. It is even worse for Samsung that many mid-range phones today can boast of very fast charging, such as the Xiaomi 12T (120 W) or the Realme GT Neo 3 (80 W). So the Korean giant has a lot of catching up to do in this field.

Camera improvements

Samsung has made a fundamental improvement to the camera in the series Galaxy S is usually reserved for the top model, which is also true in the case of the S23 Ultra. The S23 Ultra is Samsung's first smartphone to boast 200MPx camera (the predecessor had a 108-megapixel one). We don't have a problem with that, the camera is simply one of the areas where Samsung wants to set the Ultra apart from the rest. However, we don't like that the S23 and S23+ have the same rear camera setup as their predecessors, with a 50MP main camera, a 10MP telephoto lens with triple optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. Only the front camera was improved, from 10 to 12 MPx.

It would be nice to see all phones in the Korean giant's top line get at least a minor rear camera upgrade every year to differentiate themselves from their predecessors. It would also help build excitement for the entire lineup, rather than Samsung promoting just the most expensive model each year.

For the S23 Ultra, the rest of the rear photo setup otherwise remained the same. We wouldn't be mad if Samsung improved the 10x optical zoom to 12x on the periscope telephoto lens next year. Alternatively, it could (not only with the next Ultra) use larger sensors to take even better pictures in poorer light.

New design

It wouldn't hurt if Samsung changed the design more significantly for its next flagship series. This year's lineup has a unified back design, with each camera having its own cutout. However, the front side of the individual models has basically not changed. It would be nice if Samsung stopped playing it safe in this regard and brought some refreshing design element next year. Apple last year for models iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max came with a notch innovation called Dynamic Islands, which may not have been to everyone's liking, but it was something new and potentially revolutionary. Maybe we will see something similar here Galaxy S24 (some androidafter all, other brands are already working on something like this, specifically e.g. Realme).

Unification of specifications

It would be good if Samsung unified some of the basic specifications for the next flagship phones. We're certainly not against the Ultra having something the others don't, but we don't like the base model staying within the range Galaxy With a bit of "Cinderella". For example, due to the already mentioned 25W "fast" charging or the limitation of its 128GB version to UFS 3.1 storage instead of UFS 4.0. We really see no reason for such downgrades compared to higher models.

Even better software support

Samsung offers really long software support for its flagships (and selected mid-range models), namely four upgrades Androidua five years of security updates. But why couldn't the already great software support be even better? We really wouldn't be mad for five upgrades Androidua six years of security updates…
