Flexible phones are slowly and surely penetrating the mainstream, and Samsung has made a decisive contribution to this. The latter is still the unwavering leader in this area, but the Chinese competition is starting to step on its heels - albeit very cautiously so far. One of these competitors is Huawei, which introduced the Mate X3 puzzle, which has a significant advantage over others, namely its very low weight.

Huawei Mate X3 weighs only 239g, which is 24g less than the weight Galaxy From Fold4. However, it is not quite the lightest puzzle, it holds this first place Oppo Find N2 with 233 grams.

Despite the low weight, the phone does not make any compromises in terms of hardware. It features a 7,85-inch flexible OLED display with a resolution of 2224 x 2496 px and a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 6,4-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2504 px and the same refresh rate. It uses a hinge with a water drop design, so it shouldn't have a (too) visible notch on the flexible display, and it boasts an IPX8 rating.

The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, supported by 12 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of internal memory. The camera is triple with a resolution of 50, 13 and 12 MPx, with the second serving as an ultra-wide-angle lens and the third as a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. The equipment includes a fingerprint reader located on the side, NFC, an infrared port and stereo speakers. The battery has a capacity of 4800 mAh and supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. In terms of software, the phone is built on the HarmonyOS 3.1 system.

The novelty will be introduced to the Chinese market next month and its price starts at 12 yuan (about 999 CZK). Whether it will reach international markets is not known at the moment, but we do not consider it very likely, since the absence of support for 41G networks and Google Play services (due to the still ongoing sanctions of the US government against the manufacturer) are very serious weaknesses.
