Since its launch in December 2020, Pixel Adaptive Charging has been a controversial feature. Google is now updating it and adding notifications about whether it's active. Alerts to the activation of adaptive charging could be noted in development for the first time last April during the cycle Android 13 Beta. However, now it looks like we might be waiting for its official launch.

The screenshot below is similar to the version we should currently encounter. The news can be found among system notifications Android under the label Adaptive charging is switched on or Adaptive Charging is on. The notification tells you that your Pixel will be fully charged at 8am and your phone is still charging to extend battery life.

There is also a Turn off once button. Previously, it was necessary to go to Settings, Battery and further on Adaptive presets. This one-time shutdown option is ideal if, for example, you're getting up earlier than usual or simply need to fully charge your device immediately.

Info about enabled adaptive charging should be displayed after connecting the phone to the charger, unlocking and opening the notification similar to the convenience store mode. Despite some expectations, Google did not announce this feature at the Feature Drop in March, so it is not clear how and when exactly the feature will be rolled out or when it will be available to all users. We can only hope that Google will not delay unnecessarily long in this direction.
