All mobile phone manufacturers are trying to outdo each other to bring the best equipped device. That's why they often give their smartphones unnecessary functions that don't have much justification or that users actually don't even use it in any way, even if marketing is a powerful thing. This is of course also the case with Samsung.

Extremely high resolution camera

It has been a stereotype for many years among many users, but more MPx does not mean better photos. Even so, manufacturers keep coming in increasing numbers. Galaxy S22 Ultra has 108MPx, Galaxy The S23 Ultra already has 200 MPx, but in the end there are more smaller pixels that have to be merged into one, so the effect on the result here is questionable to say the least. It is true that Pixel Binning technology is already used by Apple, but a value of around 50 MPx appears to be the golden mean and the ideal balance between the number of MPx and performance, not so much more than Samsung is trying to give. With normal 50, 108, 200 MPx photography, you will still take a 12MPx image in the final, precisely because of pixel merging.

8K video

Speaking of recording quality, it's also worth mentioning the ability to shoot 8K videos. It's been almost 10 years since the first smartphones learned to shoot 4K videos, and now 8K is making its way into the world. But the 8K recording has nowhere to be played by an ordinary mortal anyway and it is unnecessarily data intensive. At the same time, 4K is still of sufficient quality that it does not have to be replaced by a finer format. If 8K, then maybe only for professional purposes and maybe as a reference for future generations, who will have a better experience watching "retro" footage thanks to such quality recording.

Display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz

Even if they are already escaping informace about how it will be Galaxy The S24 Ultra offers an adaptive display refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, this value is highly questionable. Now it is mainly offered exclusively by gaming smartphones, which once again benefit from that number that other devices cannot boast of to such an extent. It's true that you'll see 60 or 90 Hz versus 120 Hz in the smoothness of animations, but you'll barely notice the difference between 120 and 144 Hz.

Quad HD resolution and higher

We will stay with the display. Those with Quad HD+ resolution are common these days, especially on premium devices. However, the resolution and expression of the fineness of the display is somewhat questionable, because you simply cannot see it, not even on a Full HD panel, when you cannot distinguish individual pixels from each other during normal use. In addition, Quad HD or a higher resolution consumes significantly more energy, so in the end we can say that what you don't actually see with the eye is what you pay for with the endurance of your smartphone.

Wireless charging

It's comfortable, but that's about it. When charging wirelessly, you need to place the phone precisely on the charging pad, and if you place the device incorrectly, your phone simply won't charge. At the same time, this charging method is very slow. Samsung even performance in its line Galaxy S23 reduced from 15 to 10 W. But this charging method has other shortcomings. In particular, we mean the generation of excess heat, which is not good for the device or the charger. Losses are also to blame, so this charging is very inefficient in the end.
