Google early in the year in its schedule of preliminary releases Androidu 14 said it will release its first beta for Pixel phones in April. And that just happened now. What's new Android 14 Beta 1 brings?

On-screen navigation is one of the things that makes the earlier versions Androidu unique, and as time went on, this feature evolved. IN Androidu 14 Beta 1 Google finally addresses a long-standing navbar appearance complaint by finally forcing apps to have a "transparent" navbar.

Navigation bar Androidu has long supported the ability to change the color to match the application on the screen, or to be completely transparent and show content that is "behind" the navigation buttons or gesture bar. However, there are many apps that default to black space around the navigation buttons or gesture bar, which can be annoying in certain cases. Android 14 Beta 1 introduces a new developer option that forces a system-wide "transparent navigation bar" so that all apps change the color of the navigation bar to match that app.

Other novelties are a more prominent back arrow to facilitate gesture navigation and which also complements the selected wallpaper and system theme, an improved page for sharing content that now allows you to add your own actions, or the introduction of a new flexible mechanism for creating and rendering vector graphics. Android 14 Beta 1 also fixes some bugs related to PiP (picture in picture) mode among others.

First beta version Androidu 14 is available on Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro phones. According to the official schedule, further betas will be released in May, June and July, while we should expect the final version of the system sometime at the end of the summer.
