Phones Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro they are equipped with the Google Tensor G2 chip, which is manufactured by Samsung's 5nm process. The same chipset is expected to power the foldable smartphone Pixel Fold. However, a new leak suggests that the Tensor G2 will perform much better in the Pixel Fold than the Tensor G2 in the Pixel 7 series, and that's because the Korean giant should have greatly improved its 5nm process.

According to the recently increasingly active leaker appearing on Twitter under the name Revegnus Samsung has made "major improvements" to its 5nm semiconductor manufacturing process. The leaker does not mention the specific changes made in the production process, but in response to one of the comments, he said that "the nodes themselves are being improved."

While all chipsets made with the 5nm manufacturing process should benefit from the latest improvements, the leaker confirmed that the Tensor G2 will benefit from them, as well as the Exynos W920. The second mentioned chip powers the watch series Galaxy Watch4 to Watch5 and according to the leaker, this year's series will also use it Galaxy Watch6.

Samsung's 5nm manufacturing process is considered inferior/less efficient compared to TSMC's 5nm process, which is one of the reasons why the Tensor G2 and previous Exynos chips have overheating issues. We can hope that the latest improvements to the Korean giant's 5nm process will at least partially solve these problems. If they are Revegnus's informace right, she could have a turn Galaxy Watch6 longer battery life than Galaxy Watch5.
