Google plans to make its AI easier to access on Pixel phones and tablets, as indicated by an upcoming home screen widget exclusive to those devices.

Following informace they are based on the decompilation procedure, within the system Android referred to as APK, which was made with the latest version of the application that Google uploaded to its Google Play store. This method allows you to see various lines of code that indicate possible future functionality. It is therefore an extrapolation of options, which means that Google may, but on the other hand, may not bring them to users, and their interpretation may not be completely accurate. But we wouldn't mind this news.

Google's Bard is a generative AI looking to compete with apps like ChatGPT and others. As it stands, Bard operates separately and is only accessible via a dedicated website. Over the past few months, the Silicon Valley giant has gradually worked to make Bard and other technologies using LaMDA more easily accessible, such as through generated suggestions in Gmail, text creation in Docs, and the like. It is very likely that we will also see Bard on ChromeOS in the future.

Widget and Google Search

Although there is artificial intelligence from Google in the system Android already usable today through the chosen web browser, it is still a long way from the deep integration of GPT-4 into Microsoft's Edge and Bing browsers. Fortunately, Google seems to have plans to incorporate Bard access into the system Android, at least that's what parts of the code reviewed by 9to5Google suggest. It could happen along with the home screen widget. It is currently unclear whether Bard will be integrated into Google Search or whether it will be a separate application. Either way, however, this would be a much-needed step forward from its current availability on the web.

It's currently unclear exactly how the widget will work, but it looks like it should have more functionality than just serving as a one-tap shortcut to a new conversation with Bard. It can be thought that it could contain suggested prompts for conversations and be incorporated directly into the opening of the respective application.

Artificial Intelligence

For now, the Bard widget is supposed to be exclusively available for Google Pixel phones, at least initially. Since access to Google's artificial intelligence is currently limited and requires a waitlist to use it, the question arises whether being a Pixel owner will allow you to skip this condition, if it is not lifted by then. It could definitely be an interesting marketing move.

According to currently available information, Google is preparing numerous surprises related to artificial intelligence at this year's I/O conference. With the event also set to serve as the official debut of the Pixel 7a and Pixel Tablet, it's possible we'll learn more about how the Pixel Bard will come in handy on devices. The conference is already on May 10.
