Samsung he announced, that the IHRN (Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification) component of the existing ECG function on Galaxy Watch received permission from the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Users Galaxy Watch s Wear OSs will soon be able to use the BioActive sensor to look for signs of atrial fibrillation.

Samsung said the FDA-approved IHRN feature will debut in the watch Galaxy Watch6, which he should present in the summer. Galaxy Watch6 will apparently consist of a standard model and a Classic model, which should have a physical swivel lunette.

The Korean giant added that the feature, which will check for irregular heart rhythms in the background using the BioActive sensor when activated in the Samsung Health Monitor app, will later be extended to older watches Galaxy Watch with this sensor, which are rows Galaxy Watch4 to Watch5. This availability detail is also confirmed by the upcoming update with the One UI 5 superstructure Watch, which will only arrive on watches with the system Wear OS, not on older Tizen-powered models like Galaxy Watch3.

According to more recent Samsung leaks, the series Galaxy Watch6 will stage the end July. Update with One UI 5 Watch should be released shortly thereafter. One UI 5 extension Watch, which the Korean giant introduced last week, will bring, among other things, personalized heart rate zones and improved safety features such as fall detection and automatic SOS calls.
