In the case of Samsung Galaxy Watch it is relatively easy to take a picture, but otherwise it is in the system Wear OS surprisingly difficult. The new version of the system was announced at this year's Google I/O and should bring improvements in many directions. According to the XDA Developers site, we will probably have support for the Material You design language here, but in the future it should also finally be easier to take a screenshot on a smartwatch with Wear OS 4.

As you can see from the screenshot below, a function has been added in the gestures category that allows you to take a screenshot simply by pressing the crown and the side button at the same time. This one is in the system Wear OS 3.5 was not present. Currently, it is usually possible to take a screenshot of the system Wear OS required to use the smartphone app. In the case of the Pixel Watch you need to go to the view of which you want to take a picture on the watch, open the application Watch on the phone, tap the overflow menu and then take a picture, while it was the same on the system Wear OS 2.

Samsung watch Galaxy Watch, but for example also TicWatch they have a much more reasonable solution when it comes to the ability to take a screenshot in the form of a combination of buttons, but this is not a matter of the system Wear OS, but hardware manufacturer add-ons. In any case, it's incomparable to having to use a smartphone app for something so simple. Many smartwatch users will gradually come to rely more and more on the devices on their wrists rather than those in their pockets and purses.

While there's a possibility that simply taking screenshots might not make it into the final build, given the utility of the feature, it's highly likely that Wear OS 4 gets rid of this noticeable deficiency.
