Galaxy Watch4 to Galaxy Watch5 is one of the best smartwatches on the market, partly because it uses the new BioActive sensor, which Samsung designed to capture vital signs and fitness data more accurately than anything else. In addition, they also have simpler sensors that can also be found in mobile devices such as smartphones. In particular, we have in mind the gyroscope, which opens up really interesting possibilities and use cases for the watch.

The gyroscope is a small sensor that detects the movements of the watch. And as for the series Galaxy Watch, users can use this sensor to set a quick launch gesture. This allows you to launch an application, turn on the flashlight function or open a list of exercise types without touching the display or pressing any button.

How to enable gesture control in Galaxy Watch

  • Open it Settings.
  • Choose Advanced features.
  • Select an option Quick launch.
  • Turn on the feature switch.

Now you have the function activated, but you still have to assign it what it should actually do. To do this, tap on the Choose an option menu. Here you will already see a long list of everything the watch can do. So you can open recent applications, open a list of exercise types and then choose from them, or feel free to add a reminder or start any application.

And how do you actually do that? Quick Launch feature in Galaxy Watch it works by clenching your hand into a fist for the first 5 seconds after turning on the screen, then flexing your hand twice at the wrist down and up as if you were nodding your fist. Subsequently, the selected function is activated.
