Samsung has reportedly partnered with Naver to create generative AI platforms similar to ChatGPT. However, unlike her, this AI tool will reportedly be intended for internal use by Samsung employees.

The Korean giant recently saw firsthand the dangers of using ChatGPT in a corporate environment when some of the company's sensitive semiconductor-related information was leaked through it. Indeed, several employees tried to use the tool to make their work easier without realizing that informace and the blocks of code they share with generative artificial intelligence will become part of ChatGPT and will be stored on remote servers beyond the company's reach.

After this experience, Samsung banned its employees from using ChatGPT, but apparently does not want to give up the very idea of using generative AI. It is reportedly working with Naver to jointly develop an AI platform specifically and exclusively for corporate purposes, as reported in The korea economic daily.

Generative AI presented by the Korean company will therefore not be open like ChatGPT, but exclusive to the needs of its employees within the Device Solutions division, while later, once the necessary testing has taken place, the tool may also be available to employees of other branches, for example, the Device eXperience division, which is responsible for for mobile phones, household appliances and the like. Due to the exclusivity of not leaving internal servers and its specific purpose, AI can be tailored to help the company better than ChatGPT ever could.

Existing informace suggest that Samsung could share sensitive semiconductor data with Naver, which then informace implements into generative AI. This would allow Samsung employees to exploit the potential of artificial intelligence without worrying about sensitive data leaking into the public cloud space. Another indisputable advantage is that such an in-house chatbot will understand Korean better than any other generative AI.
