WhatsApp is one of the most popular communication tools today. The application provides a simple, clear interface and allows you to connect with other users through various media, whether it is text messages or voice or video calls. However, WhatsApp's great strength is also its approach to security, despite the fact that it was definitely not the case before. It already provides end-to-end encryption of messages, so no one just breaks into your privacy. Now comes the introduction of a new layer of security in the form of Chat Lock.

The company announced the new feature in an official post on its blog, which will help users increase the security aspect of their communications. Until now, there was an option to lock access to the entire application from the outside. However, the arrival of new updates will bring the possibility to lock individual chats as well.

The company said that there is no limit to the number of lockouts, which can be done by tapping and holding on a specific chat and then choosing from the lockout options. There are two options for setting the lock, using a password and biometric data, i.e. a fingerprint.

No more worrying about sensitive chat notifications popping up informaceme, when your phone unexpectedly falls into someone else's hands or you lend it to a friend, family member, etc. According to the company, we should soon see other improvements related to locking chats, such as different passwords for each chat, which further expands the possibilities and level of security.
