It's been speculated for a while now and now it's finally here. Google has started rolling out birthday notifications to its Contacts app. The Add birthdays tab has been added to Google Contacts, which is located in the For you section. Google writes about her: "Save your contacts' birthdays to see them in your birthday calendar and get useful suggestions here and across Google".

Clicking on "Add birthdays" takes the user to a list-type user interface that is optimized for fast and bulk data entry. A cake icon will appear next to people without a birthday, and the user can add this information by scrolling through the month, day, and year.

Once the new feature is available, the user will be able to open an individual contact and go to the dropdown menu where they will find a new Add birthday notification option. Introducing a feature noticed by the site 9to5Google, it looks like it will take some time. With that in mind, it's worth noting that Contacts added widgets for individual and favorite contacts to the home screen last month.
