Samsung is among the leaders when it comes to implementing a stylus for smartphones. The competition in this regard is not great, but the Korean giant can simply do it. Previously, the stylus was only available on phones Galaxy Notes that were the top of the range. Currently, we will meet him with models Galaxy S Ultra and Z Fold along with premium models Galaxy Tab S and some laptops Galaxy Book, none of which again belongs to the cheaper category.

At the beginning of 2020, however, one exception appeared in the form of Samsung Galaxy Note10 Lite. It was introduced on the same day as the S10 Lite and had some features in common with it, although there are also significant differences between the two phones. So let's reminisce a bit. If we start with the display, it was 6,7" in size and offered a resolution of 1 x 080 pixels. So it was the same basic dimensions as the relative S2 Lite. Panel Galaxy However, the Note10 Lite included an additional digitizer layer that allowed the S Pen stylus to work.

Here, Samsung even reached for a fancy new S Pen with Bluetooth support, unlike the purely passive ones we encountered with older Galaxy Notes. This made it no problem to use it as a remote control, for example when taking photos from a distance or to control a music player. While the pen wasn't as advanced as the one on the Note10+ and Note10, as it lacked support for some gestures, it was still miles ahead of the typical capacitive styluses you see on some other devices. With Pen Galaxy The Note10 Lite featured high speed and 4 pressure levels. The phone definitely lived up to its name and was always ready for you to jot down a note. Just pull out the pen and start writing on the lock screen. There was handwriting recognition that could automatically turn your notes into digital text.

A reasonable compromise that is now missing

Comparison with models like Galaxy Note 9 and 10, Note 10+ or S10 will of course show the appropriate differences, whether it is the chipset used, differences in charging speed, battery capacity or photographic equipment. In many respects, however, it can be said that the resulting mix combines the more interesting features into a single device at a somewhat more affordable price. Galaxy The Note10 Lite, for example, boasted a triple 12MP camera on the back, including a 52mm telephoto lens, which was missing from the S10 Lite. Some may be impressed by the Note10 Lite's equipment, such as the microSD slot or the 3,5mm headphone jack, which the Note10 and its successors have lost.

However, there were several factors that made the Note10 Lite truly Lite. For example, a plastic back panel, even though the front was made of Gorilla Glass 3 and the chassis was metal, no protection against dust or water in the form of IP protection, the absence of a USB 3 port or stereo speakers. It seems that the presence and possibilities of the stylus also gave a reasonable compromise in the equipment Galaxy Note10 Lite is very attractive, although the effect on the price was not as noticeable as some might have expected. So the question arises whether it would not be interesting to do both for the Korean manufacturer and for the customers Galaxy S23 Ultra Lite (obviously with some more intelligent labeling, probably the FE moniker now). Or would you like a telephone, for example Galaxy And with S Pen?
