Huawei claims that the company's newly introduced watch with the label Watch 4 have a blood glucose monitoring function. So they should alert users when they detect irregular blood sugar levels. Currently, they are said to achieve this with the help of specific health indicators that can be read in as little as 60 seconds.

He's trying to Apple, Samsung also wants it, but the Chinese Huawei has overtaken everyone. Indeed, the company claims that its new smartwatch has a non-invasive blood glucose monitoring feature that uses only a set of health indicators and requires no additional hardware. Yu Chengtung, CEO of Huawei, has also published a demo video on Weibo showing how this feature works.

It should be noted that the Huawei watch Watch 4 doesn't work to provide blood sugar readings by itself, it just alerts you when it detects that your blood sugar is high and you may be at risk of hyperglycemia. The promotional video shows that a warning will appear to show the user an evaluation of this risk. The smartwatch does this by measuring 60 health indicators within 10 seconds. These metrics include heart rate, pulse wave characteristics, and some other data.

Huawei is winning the battle for supremacy

In recent years, smartwatches have become more and more sophisticated when it comes to their health monitoring capabilities. Samsung Galaxy Watch for example, they can take electrocardiograms (ECGs) to diagnose atrial fibrillation and monitor blood oxygen levels. But Huawei's latest wearable goes a step further with non-invasive blood glucose monitoring. After all, other manufacturers are also trying to do this, including Samsung, they just haven't found the ideal solution yet.

That's why Huawei also claims that it is "the first smartwatch to offer high blood sugar risk assessment research." The non-invasive method is a major breakthrough for people with diabetes. There is no need to prick your finger, which can be painful and uncomfortable. It also allows people with diabetes to monitor their blood sugar more often, which can help them better manage their condition.

Huawei's non-invasive blood glucose monitoring technology is still in its early stages, but it has the potential to revolutionize the way people with diabetes manage their condition. If successful, it could make it easier for people with diabetes to live healthier and more normal lives, but only if it's accurate and approved for public use by regulators, which it isn't yet.
