The German car manufacturer BMW presented the BMW 5 series a few days ago. With its new cars, it is obviously winking at gamers, as it has integrated the AirConsole gaming platform into their infotainment units.

BMW says the integration of the AirConsole app into the BMW 5 Series infotainment will bring a unique gaming experience to the road. The platform will allow the driver and passengers to play casual games while the vehicle is stationary. By playing, they will be able to pass the time, for example, while recharging the car battery.

To play, players will only need a smartphone that will act as a controller and a screen called Curved Display on the dashboard. After launching the AirConsole app in the vehicle, a connection is established between the smartphone and the vehicle by scanning the QR code on the screen. After that, the crew of the car will be able to start playing. It will be possible to play alone, with all passengers in the vehicle or in competitive mode.

That being said, passengers in the new BMW cars will be able to play casual games (sometimes referred to as casual or non-gamers) that are easy to understand and have intuitive controls. There will be sports, racing, quiz, logic, strategy or jumping games to choose from. At the beginning, it will be possible to play about 15 titles, including well-known pro gems Android and other platforms such as Go Kart Go, Golazo or Overcooked. BMW promises that the range of games will gradually expand.
