Google Weather is about to get a major update that will introduce elements of the Material You design language. Now the website 9to5Google discovered that this redesign will likely make Weather a standalone app that will be linked to the Clock app.

The website made this conclusion based on the analysis of the last version of the Clock application (7.5), in which it found the link com.google.android.apps.weather. This version is said to soon allow users to display local weather on their watches. This could include the current temperature, high or low temperature or weather conditions for that city. These informace they could also appear on Clock home screen widgets.

In this regard, the website notes that Google added a number of specific weather references to the Clock in version 7.5, such as blizzard, shower, clear day, hot day, low visibility, heavy rain, rain with snow, drizzle, tropical storm or hurricane.

These informace they will be based on the new Weather design and will apparently be accessible when you tap its icon. The new Weather app will probably arrive in June, when Google will also launch its first foldable smartphone Pixel Fold and the first tablet Pixel Tablets.
