He was the clear main and brightest star of the event Galaxy From Flip5. We will also hear the most about him in the following days, and it is quite logical. The company wants to use it to fight against everything – classic and boring pancakes, other clamshell (flip) competition, and above all Apple, when it wants to show all apple buyers to switch to Flip and say what it will bring them.

But will it really bring them anything? This is a rather interesting question. Here it is not about the specifications but the impression. Galaxy Z Flip5 is much the same as Galaxy From Flip4, at the same time, it brings a lot of new and for many better things. The cameras are the same, but they are a new generation of sensors. A better chip could not have been used, we got rid of the gap between the two folded parts and the groove in the display is thus slightly smaller (although it is hard to tell without a direct comparison). And then there's that larger external display.

So there is a lot of news and Flip5 has really matured. It's not such a toy anymore, because the large display looks usable, which is helped by everything it can do - not only widgets, but after unlocking the function in Labs, you can also use classic applications here. What we were afraid of is only half happening. It will still depend on the developers.

The absence of a groove makes the device not only more attractive and weaker, but also more sleek in design. Subjectively, I thought that the opening was a bit stiffer, an interesting effect is that the Flip moves itself into the straightened position when it is about 10 degrees short. It was probably not intentional, but the new hinge design is to blame. Who hasn't been excited by Flip until now, probably won't sit on his ass even now, but even so, it's an evolution and could bring the desired fruit, i.e. greater awareness of people and greater sales. The price can also help with this. This is CZK 500 lower than last year, but you have 256GB of storage instead of 128GB. Quite unexpected and definitely pleasant.

If the Flip's hinge was improved, the Fold also got it logically, only on a larger scale. The technology here is the same, so a smaller groove is also present. In both cases, however, a cover film is still necessary, let's not forget that. However, it is worth adding that if you damage it for some reason, Samsung will replace it for free at any official domestic store.

The chip is again "maximum", cameras from the S23 series. But it can be everything. Yes, we changed the colors (the black one surprisingly appealed to me quite a bit), but the design itself hasn't changed in any way either, so somewhat paradoxically, here we meet the dimensional output of the entire photo module, not just the output of individual lenses, which should have been the current design signature of the company's products across the segment , because tablets actually got it too, so only the jigsaw puzzles deviate.

The internal sub-display selfie is also still the same, but we can honestly say that it probably doesn't matter at all, it's actually enough for video calls. I'm not big on covers, but the one with the S Pen is quite interesting. The device itself is not big, its biggest drawback is of course its thickness. It's even bigger with the cover, which Samsung knows, and that's why it made the S Pen much smaller - no, it still hasn't integrated it and probably won't, because there's simply no room for it in the Fold. But he can always edit the covers. So the S Pen is not round, but has a lot of cut surfaces, although it still feels comfortable to hold. I also like the color of it, but I'm not sure if it's suitable for business. Prices are the same as last year, which can also be a positive given the times we live in. It is worth noting that this time too there are promotions for higher memory and redemption bonuses.

Samsung probably doesn't have much to think about. The S7 series was really successful when the S8 brought three sizes and improvements in all directions. After all, this is also copied by the S9 series, which, as expected, offers something for every more professional-minded tablet user. There's the biggest Ultra, which is really giant, or the basic model, which has only one camera on its back.

The displays were improved, the photo module was modified, the S Pen is still in the package and it can now be charged whether you magnetically place it with the tip facing the lens or the other way around. After all, the charging is only used for communication with Bluetooth, the S Pen works even when it is completely discharged. The settled but decent color remains, only the smallest model can be had in beige. It's a bit boring, but that's what tablets offer in general. However, if you want one, you can reach for the certainty of the S9 series, which simply has nothing to disappoint you.
