Samsung Galaxy Most of us remember the Note as a really big device, and its successors were no different. But in 2013, one titan appeared who Galaxy He overshadowed the note with an overview.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 really lived up to its name with its dimensions - that is, if we are talking about the modern era of smartphones dating from 2007. It was similar in design to Samsung Galaxy S4, but its display had a respectable 6,3″ diagonal, at a time when the standard aspect ratio was 16:9. But it didn't end with the display. This remarkable piece boasted a width of 88 mm, a height of 167,6 mm and a weight of 199 grams. It was quite difficult to hold, let alone operate with one hand. For comparison - Galaxy The Note II, which came out a few months earlier, had a 5,5″ display, while the Note 3, which was due a few months later, had a 5,7″ display.

Despite its impressive build, the Mega 6.3 was actually a mid-range phone. It was powered by a dual-core Broadcom chipset that provided less than half the performance Galaxy Note II. But performance was not the main goal here. Instead, the Mega was aimed at those who wanted a single device instead of carrying a phone and tablet at the same time. Back then, such devices were called phablets. But let's go back to the display for a moment, because it was the main selling point. It was a 6,3″ SC-LCD with 720p resolution. This means that the pixel density was at a low level, 233 ppi. But it is necessary to take into account the fact that the Mega 6.3 did not even plan to compete in this respect with the flagships.

The Mega 6.3's display served its purpose well. It rendered an image with good colors and a fairly high contrast ratio. At least if you stayed in the shade, as the display only managed average brightness. The power supply was provided by a battery with a capacity of 3200 mAh, which was enough to browse the web or watch a TV show for 8 hours straight. And just in that Galaxy The Mega 6.3 excelled – it was a powerful device for internet and media consumption. And it was able to multitask, despite the relatively limited performance paired with just 1,5GB of RAM.
