Apple yesterday launched a new generation of iPhones - iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 For a iPhone 15 For Max. All of them offer fairly significant improvements over their predecessors, but we'll be interested to see how they stack up against Samsung's current "flagship" Galaxy S23. Specifically, we will look at the model comparison iPhone 15 Pro and basic Galaxy S23, i.e. models that are very close to each other.

Display

iPhone The 15 Pro has a Super Retina XDR OLED display with a diagonal of 6,1 inches, a resolution of 1179 x 2556 px, a refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 2000 nits, and it is protected by Ceramic Shield glass. Like its predecessor, it supports Always-On mode.

Galaxy S23 got a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with the same diagonal as iPhone 15 Pro, with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 px, the same refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 1750 nits. In this case, it is protected by Gorilla Victus 2 glass. There is also support for Always-On mode.

Performance and memory

iPhone The 15 Pro is powered by the new A17 Pro chipset, which is manufactured using 3nm technology. It has six processor cores, two of which are high-performance. Apple boasts that it is the fastest mobile chip ever. It is supported by 8 GB of operating system and 128, 256, 512 GB and 1 TB of internal memory.

Galaxy The S23 uses an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset (more precisely, its overclocked version with the nickname for Galaxy), which is manufactured using a 4nm process. It is accompanied by 8 GB of operating memory and 128-512 GB of storage (the variant with 512 GB of storage is not available here).

In any case, the Cupertino giant states that it will allow up to 23 hours of video playback and up to 75 hours of audio playback on a single charge. The battery also supports 15W MagSafe wireless charging and 7,5W Qi wireless charging (wired charging power Apple does not state, however, with a charger with 20W power and higher, the battery should be charged to 50% in 30 minutes).

Galaxy The S23 has a battery with a capacity of 3900 mAh and supports 25W wired charging. In addition, it also supports 15W wireless charging (Qi/PMA) and 4,5W reverse wireless charging. As Apple even Samsung says that using wired charging will charge the phone to 50% in half an hour. Both have a USB-C connector.

Let's add that both phones have stereo speakers, support Wi-Fi 6e Bluetooth 5.3 standards and are waterproof and dustproof according to IP68 certification (iPhone 15 Pro, however, like its predecessor, lasts 30 minutes at a depth of 6 m, while Galaxy S23 can handle the same time only at a depth of 1,5 m).
