Android 14 is now official, but Google is already looking ahead to next year, ie at Android 15. Although Android 14 introduced several new features using artificial intelligence, it turned out to be more of an incremental update that did not include all the features that Google showed in the first beta versions. Here are 5 things we'd like to see in the next version Androidu.

Floating windows

AndroidColorOS and MIUI extensions came a few years ago with a useful tool in the form of floating windows that allows you to maximize the screen size. Floating windows basically allow any app to be resized to fit the display without taking up the entire width, and can be overlayed on top of another app to make it more convenient to use.

If Google is going to add floating windows to Androidfor 15 floating windows, should consider implementing the ColorOS superstructure, not MIUI. In MIUI, floating windows are enabled by default, but it is not possible to turn them off. This can bring some inconveniences, like when you download a notification and a pop-up pops up without you wanting it.

Better customization of icons

Google already in Androidu 12 introduced thematic icons in Androidon 12 (albeit only in beta), two years later, however, the feature is still half-assed at best. However, this is not Google's fault, but the developers'. Most of them ignore the feature because it is not mandatory for them and it makes the home screen look less cohesive. It would also be nice if Google do Androidu 15 introduced the ability to change the shape and size of icons so that users no longer have to rely on different icon packs.

Google should copy the Screen Distance feature from Apple

Screen distance is a new feature in the system iOS 17, which uses the front-facing camera to detect if you're holding the phone too close to your eyes. Its purpose is to reduce eye strain, and if the camera detects that you're using the device closer than about 30cm from your face, it will trigger a full-screen notification and ask you to move your phone or tablet away from your eyes. Hopefully Google will notice this useful feature and implement it in the next one Androidu.

Back predictive gesture support for multiple apps

Google started in Androidu 13 to experiment with the predictive gesture function. It offered a view of the home screen in selected applications, when another swipe back took you to it. Google this feature in Androidu 14 expanded with transitions between applications. If you want to use it fully, you need to enable it in the developer options. Even so, only a few applications support it, most of which are from Google. We would not be so angry if this feature in the next version Androidu supported more apps, especially those from third-party developers.

A more reliable backup system

Some users who their androidové smartphones updated to Android 14, encountered an issue where their device went into a reboot loop and Google was unable to recover their data. Even if Google backup is turned on, it is likely that not all data can be recovered through it. This is because the company's cloud backup system is compared to what it offers Apple, just very basic.

When you switch to a new one iPhone, you can transfer data from an old iPhone to a new one even if you don't have physical access to the old one. On Androidu is more complicated. To transfer as much data as possible, you usually need to connect your old and new phone. You may need to sign in to the apps again and download their data again after the transfer.

Creating a robust backup system like the Cupertino giant has doesn't have to be on Androidu easy. There are only a handful of iPhone models, but there are hundreds, if not thousands, of models androidof phones, each with more or less different hardware and software. Creating a backup system that would include all devices with Androiderm, it may seem impossible, but we believe Google is capable of it. However, we may have to wait a while for that.

Google has a habit of releasing preview versions Androidu months before the public release, to give developers enough time to get used to the latest features. It can be expected that the first developer preview Androidu 15 will be available sometime in February next year, with public betas to follow two months later. A sharp version could then be released in September.
