It's like on a swing. At first it was certain that it would be like that, then it looked like it wasn't and then that it was already 100%. However, reports are currently coming in indicating that the line Galaxy The S24 will lack the satellite communication function that we already took for granted.

The feature has actually been expected for a long time Galaxy S23, and that's because iPhones 14 already came with it. It didn't happen a Apple it is therefore two generations ahead of iPhones, because of course the iPhone 15 from last September also has this option (the other phones with satellite communication are those from Huawei). Samsung has already done a lot in this regard, showing a functional technology that actually allows you to communicate, not just send SOS messages. The way it looks, we'll have to let our taste buds go this year as well.

New a report from ETNews claims that Samsung is testing Galaxy S24 with three network operators in South Korea – KT, LG Uplus and SK Telecom, two weeks before the official announcement of the series. Everything seems to work as it should, but there is not a single mention of the satellite connectivity. Plus, we've got more reports from leakers who claim that Samsung's two-way satellite connection will be used down the line Galaxy S25. Samsung though developed its own two-way satellite connection feature, which should be part of the Exynos 2400 chip, but may not be used right away in the Galaxy S24. It can also be just a preparation, for example for a future FE model.

The situation is opaque and only Samsung will shed light on it during the presentation of the series on January 17. It is true, however, that it is a question of how much such a function is actually expected, especially in our Czech basin. It will depend on its availability, when even Apple technology is not yet covered. But Samsung's sounds more interesting, if it's not just SOS messages but two-way communication possible even without a mobile signal.
