Google has started rolling out the update to eligible Pixels Android 14 QPR2 Beta 3. What's new?

Android 14 QPR2 Beta 3 on compatible Pixels (i.e. Pixel 5a-Pixel 8 series) specifically brings the following news:

  • The return of the "Your Pixel is up to date" screen instead of the previous "Your system is up to date" screen.
  • The Bluetooth tile now has a pop-up mini-menu in Quick Settings like the Internet tile.
  • Repair Mode: While this mode (which works the same as Samsung's Maintenance Mode) was introduced in December, it wasn't available until today.
  • A new Accessibility setting that mirrors the existing Developer Options item and allows users to force apps into dark mode.
  • Changed the name of Show media recommendations to Show Assistant media recommendations.

The new update also fixes a number of bugs. These include, for example, a bug that sometimes caused the Bluetooth connection to drop on some devices, a bug that caused the device to occasionally crash or become unresponsive after restarting, a bug that caused live wallpapers to stop animating, or a bug that in some cases prevented Google Assistant from being activated.

In addition, minor issues have been fixed, such as the one that caused multi-finger gestures to stop working, the one that sometimes caused poor sound quality or higher power consumption during calls, or issues affecting system stability, performance, camera, or connectivity.

Apparently this is one of the last beta versions Androidat 14 QPR2. The sharp version should arrive on eligible Pixels in March.
