It's been a week since Samsung introduced its lineup Galaxy S24, which also includes what the company says is artificial intelligence Galaxy AI. We already know which past devices will get these advanced features and which won't and why.
The company wants to ensure that it doesn't give users a bad experience when it comes to how AI works on older devices. That's why Samsung decided to provide Galaxy AI only last year's top models. In the first phase, he plans to test these functions for some time and analyze their quality and performance in deployed devices, currently in a number of Galaxy S24.

But we have already confirmed which other models it will be extended to. So far, it's only about last year's flags, i.e. a series Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5 and a range of tablets Galaxy Tab S9. But here we get into a certain controversy. Only last generation devices
The reasons were revealed by Samsung itself. Indeed, its head of customer experience Patrick Chomet gave an interview to the magazine TechRadar, in which he explains this strategy: "We know that Galaxy AI works on the line Galaxy S24 well and we know it will work well on the line Galaxy S23. However, we don't know what the intensity of AI usage will be for the average customer, or how that intensity will affect on-device and cloud resources. First, we want to ensure the quality and performance of what we offer. Then we find out how people use these features and tune their performance. Second, we deploy Galaxy AI to the second set of devices to see how it works there.”

This statement seems quite logical, but why? Galaxy Doesn't AI also look at the S22 series? This is exactly what Chomet was asked and he answered quite simply: "We are cutting back for now Galaxy AI on last generation devices.” It simply means that Samsung doesn't have the resources to test the features on all the devices that could theoretically Galaxy AI to offer.
