Switching between mobile platforms has never been easy, but that's about to change now, thanks to a European Union regulation. That Apple has complied with its Digital Markets Act (DMA), making it easier to transfer data from iPhone to androidnew phones, including those from Samsung.

Within its news Compliance Report regarding DMA Apple revealed that it was making changes to the operating system iOS, to improve data portability between iOS and "various operating systems". This is of course meant Android. The Cupertino giant plans to implement this change sometime next fall. The report further reveals that Apple is making further changes to comply with an EU regulation that came into effect this week. The company does not create its own tool for this purpose, manufacturers androidhowever, those devices will be able to use the tools it provides to extract user data and create custom tools.

Google currently offers a Go to app Android, which helps transfer data, including contacts, free apps, notes, photos, text messages, and videos. However, it does not support the transfer of alarms, documents, call logs, eSIM, files, passwords, wallpapers and web browser bookmarks.
