WhatsApp launched the voice message transcription feature last May, but it was only available to users until now iOS. Now, however, it seems that after almost a year, she will also see it androidversion of the application.

WhatsApp beta 2.24.7.7 teardown done by the web The SpAndroid revealed code strings that suggest a new feature is in development for androidversion of the application. Code strings refer to end-encrypted transcripts. The strings specifically included:

  • "150MB of new app data will be downloaded to activate the overrides".
  • "Activate".
  • “WhatsApp uses your device's speech recognition to provide end-to-end encrypted transcripts. Next informace".
  • "Turn Transcriptions On".

It looks like users will have to download 150MB of data first before activating this feature. It will rely on the device's speech recognition software to function. The function will probably be located in Settings→Chats. The website was unable to get the feature working despite the strings of code. It is possible that this feature is not yet activated by the developers, which would indicate that it is in the early stages of development.

There is one more message regarding WhatsApp. App beta version 2.24.7.6 according to website BetaInfo is testing the feature of sharing videos via status updates of up to 1 minute. However, the current limit for "status" videos is only 30 seconds, so twice as long would be a significant improvement.
