Samsung with the One UI 6.1 superstructure that debuted with the series Galaxy S24, introduced some new fancy features. One of them was the one called Environment Photo Background which adds weather effects to the lock screen wallpaper. Samsung has now released a new update that improves these effects.

Samsung has released a new update for the Vision Core app. This upgrades it to version 1.0.14.0 and has a huge size of almost 1 GB. You can download it here. While the changelog only talks about fixing (unspecified) bugs, some users have noticed that it improves the realism of the weather effects on the lock screen wallpaper. For example, raindrops are said to now affect objects and people in an image, or snowflakes fall in front of and behind people appearing in the wallpaper.

The Background Photo feature is only available on phones Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra, and most likely with the upcoming update with One UI 6.1 will not make it to the series Galaxy S23 and Tab S9, the "budget flagship" Galaxy S23 FE and jigsaw puzzles Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5. Samsung will start releasing the update from tomorrow, March 28.

To this function on its own Galaxy You can get S24 by navigating to Settings→Advanced Features→Labs→Background Photos of the environment and turning on the appropriate switch.
