Device Care toolkit for devices Galaxy allows you to monitor and optimize your battery, storage and memory with just a few taps. It also allows you to manually free up your phone's RAM by stopping background apps.

As you probably know, you can do this by navigating to Settings→Device care→Memory and clicking the button Delete. However, this option will remove all apps running in the background from memory, which may not be ideal for something important to you. However, there is a way to add apps to the exception list so they will never be removed from memory when you perform the above mentioned action and thus retain their data.

How to prevent apps from being deleted from memory on Samsung

  • Go to Settings→Device care→Memory.
  • Tap the option Excluded applications.
  • In the upper right corner, select the app you want to exclude and click the button Add.

The selected app will now remain in memory even if you unload it. And if you ever want to remove an app from the list of excluded apps, long press it and then tap the button Remove.
