Although spring has only just begun, Google is already preparing some of its applications for summer travel. The US giant is enhancing Search with generative AI features, making it easier to get a list of verified recommendations in Maps and making it easier for you to shop with personalized recommendations in Shopping. In addition, Maps and Shopping are getting AI features like summaries and text-to-image generation.

Google has improved the Search Generative Experience (SGE) feature in Search to make it easier for you to plan your summer (or any other) trips. Now you can ask broader questions in its search engine, such as "Plan me a three-day trip to New York that's all about history," and get a set of suggestions that include places of interest, restaurants, and an overview of flights and hotels. Search essentially creates an itinerary for you that pulls data from pages all over the web, from reviews, photos and other sources that people have submitted to Google for more than 200 million places around the world.

Maps now make it easier for you to find recommended listings. Starting with selected cities in the US and Canada, the app will show you a list of recommended places to visit when you search for those cities. In addition, it introduces lists of trends, the best hidden attractions, which they create based on what people are interested in in a given city.

In addition, maps now also make it easier to customize lists. When you create a list of places in them, you will be able to choose the order in which the places appear. You can organize the places by favorite places or chronologically as an itinerary. And to top it all off, Maps now also uses artificial intelligence to identify key information about places using the Maps community. When you search for places in them, you'll be able to see photos and reviews that summarize what people like about a place.

Finally, Google is introducing a new personalized recommendation tool to Shopping to help you easily discover more products you like. US users will now see a "style recommendation" section when they search for clothing or accessories in their mobile browser or through the Google app. Options can be rated with a thumbs up or thumbs down and then get personalized results with items to complement the user's wardrobe and sense of style. Google is also adding an SGE feature to Shopping that will allow users to describe the product they're shopping for, then create a photo-realistic image that they can then use to find similar products.

All the aforementioned news should arrive in the respective applications in the coming days or weeks.
