Samsung NX1It's been some Friday since Samsung released its camera labeled as NX1. At the recent CES 2015, however, the South Korean company mentioned, among other things, that this device is awaiting a comprehensive firmware update, which should arrive in mid-January. And as it seems, this is exactly the case, because today the first news about an available update for this camera appeared, and it certainly does not skimp on new conveniences, because there are really a lot of them.

These include, for example, the ability to control the autofocus speed during movie shooting, a higher bitrate when shooting in 1080p, or ISO control using a hardware button, which many NX1 owners certainly welcomed given the earlier reactions to this device. However, there is of course more news, you can find their list right here:

  • The ability to control the sound during filming
  • Ability to change ISO during shooting
  • 23.98pa 24p framerates for 4K UHD and FHD video
  • Added "Pro" option to quality options for 1080 movies
  • Many more options on the display
  • Better support for external recording
  • C Gamma and D Gamma curves added for film shooting
  • Master black level
  • Brightness level limit (0-255, 16-235, 16-255)
  • Autofocus speed control
  • Added frame control tools
  • Option to lock autofocus in movie mode
  • Switching between automatic and manual focus in movie mode
  • The functions for the "WiFi" and "REC" buttons can be interchanged
  • The functions for the "Autofocus On" and "AEL" buttons can be interchanged
  • The options for Auto ISO are now next to each other in the menu
  • Thanks to the Smartphone App, the camera can be controlled remotely
