Galaxy S6SquareTrade, an extended product warranty company, recently published a video on YouTube that shows that the new Samsung Galaxy The S6 edge is similarly flexible, like its competitor in form iPhone 6 Plus. So, to be more precise, Galaxy The S6 edge "broke" in the bend test with an applied load of about 170 pounds (around 80 kg or 50 kgf), as did iPhone 6 Plus.

But the video apparently reached Samsung itself, which responded to it by recording its own bend test and clarifying some facts. Broken Galaxy In the video from SquareTrade, we could see the S6 edge only after reaching a pressure of 50 kgf, but we will not find many, if any, situations where the smartphone would be subjected to such pressure during normal use. The average sitting person, whose phone is in the back pocket of his pants, exerts a pressure of less than 30 kgf on the phone, but as Samsung's bend test proves, Samsung Galaxy Neither does the S6 Galaxy The S6 edge did not bend even with the applied pressure of 32 kgf.

As for the video, Samsung also pointed out that during the test, pressure is only applied to the front of the device, and it is therefore not surprising that the display itself broke relatively soon after the start of the measurement. In normal use, however, the same is usually applied to both sides of the device, and the result therefore differs considerably from what we can see in the unofficial bend test.

So it seems that prospective buyers do not have to worry about losing their new Samsung Galaxy S6 or Galaxy The S6 edge bent or even broke in the pocket. That is, unlike the owners iPhone 6 Plus, which, not long after its release, was revealed to have a visible body flex during normal use, even though the Apple tried to "disguise" the case by saying that it was only 9 defective units, it turned out that the problem affected a significantly larger part of its customers. In addition, Samsung will ask SquareTrade to repeat the test, and in its own video it emphasizes that all its devices understandably go through various damage tests before release, including bending, and that it is impossible for its smartphones to be breakable under normal conditions. You can watch both videos right below this text, the first one being the official Samsung bend test, the second one showing the SquareTrade bend test.
