Although it wasn't this year Galaxy The S9 has not yet been officially presented, but there are already rumors about its successor from South Korea. However, don't expect hardware specifications or design changes. Apparently, Samsung asked itself a completely different question. He is considering whether to stick to the classic label Galaxy S, or resort to something completely different.

If Samsung had stuck to the established system, its flagships for next year would have been called classic Galaxy S10. However, doesn't S10 already sound rather strange, long or complicated? Probably yes. And that's why Samsung started thinking about renaming its line. According to a source from South Korea, they are said to be thinking about the label Galaxy X. Although this name was supposed to bear the flexible model that the South Korean giant wanted to introduce during this year or next year, it would eventually give way to the premium series.

More meanings

Designation Galaxy X would be with respect to the tenth series of the model Galaxy quite a logical step. X would express the Roman numeral 10 on the one hand, but on the other hand it could mean that this is something extra that will be groundbreaking in a certain way. After all, he himself chose a similar strategy when labeling his premium iPhone Apple, who actually gave him the nickname X. Thanks to this, he distinguished his phone from the classic "series" iPhones marked with Arabic numerals, which was, of course, the intention of this model.

As for the following years, Samsung would probably stick to Roman numerals at least partially. No matter what he names his next phone Galaxy XI or Galaxy X1, it would still look far better than Galaxy S11.

It's hard to say at the moment if the rumors about the renaming of Samsung's premium line of models are true or not. However, if Samsung really came to this, it would certainly be quite interesting and probably welcome among its customers.
