Last year, we informed you quite intensively about Samsung's cooperation with its main rival, the company Apple, thanks to which the apple company could introduce its first iPhone with an edge-to-edge OLED display. However, as it seems, the desired fruit is not quite reaping with him. However, even Samsung itself may regret this.

It's no secret that he was Apple very important for Samsung as a customer of its OLED displays, because it was also thanks to it that it was able to break the record in its profits. However, since there is less interest in the iPhone X than expected, according to reports from the supply chain, the Apple company is drastically reducing its production and therefore no longer needs as many displays from Samsung. According to server reports Nikkei with even Apple decided to suppress production to only twenty million units in the first three months of this year, which is half of the planned forty million units with which Apple calculated.

New buyers in sight?

Samsung will thus have to find new buyers for OLED panels, with which it would heal the wound after Apple's departure and get rid of surpluses. Allegedly, however, it will not go well, as many manufacturers are still not ready for this solution and will definitely not use it in the coming months. Samsung's position as the world leader in OLED displays could suddenly fluctuate uncomfortably. However, not because there is a competitor breathing down his back who would take over his orders, but simply because he cannot find a use for his products.

We will see how the whole situation on the OLED display market will develop in the future and whether Samsung will ultimately emerge as a loser or a winner. At the moment, it is really difficult to say in which direction the manufacturers will step in the coming months. Should they rather opt for savings, thanks to which they will stick to classic LCD panels, or will they reach for a better OLED display that will add to the price?
