Although the fingerprint reader is a relatively old authentication method and has been used on smartphones for many years, its popularity among users is very high. However, due to increasing displays, manufacturers are forced to move it from the front of the smartphone to its back. However, the position on the back is by no means ideal. Samsung itself is apparently aware of this and is therefore working on technology that will allow it to place a fingerprint reader under the display. But we could expect it elsewhere soon.

A fairly reliable leaker who goes by the moniker @MMDDJ on Twitter has shared a very interesting report on his profile claiming that the South Korean giant is working on a smartphone that will boast a fingerprint sensor in the side bezel. We should expect it by the end of this year. If Samsung were to go down this path, it would imitate, for example, Sony or Motorola, which have already come up with a similar fingerprint reader solution.

Will a foldable smartphone get this news?:

At the moment, it is not at all clear which model could boast this news. In theory, however, we could expect such a reader for the upcoming foldable smartphone, which Samsung should introduce in the fall, according to its boss. Of course, "Black Peter" can also be pulled off by a completely different – probably cheaper – model.
