Fossil has launched a new Gen 5E smartwatch. It's a "cut down" version of last year's Gen 5 watch, but it's available in more sizes and at a more affordable price.

The watch comes in a new 42mm size as well as three new 44mm styles. They got an OLED display with a diagonal of 1,19 inches (for Gen 5 it is 1,28 inches) and most of the functions like the older sibling, including sleep monitoring, heart rate measurement, activity monitoring or fitness functions. all versions of the watch will be compatible with superior iPhone 12.

Just like Gen 5, the novelty is powered by the Snapdragon chipset Wear 3100, which also adds 1 GB of operating memory and a half smaller internal memory – 4 GB. Software-wise, they are built on the system Wear OS and battery capacity is 300 mAh.

In addition, the watch has a speaker and a microphone that allow the user to make calls through the paired phone with Androidem or iOS or ask questions to the Google voice assistant, waterproof to a depth of up to 30 m and support for mobile payments via NFC. Compared to the "full-fledged" model, the ambient light sensor, barometer, compass and separate GPS are missing here. Another "relief" is the impossibility of turning the crown.

The novelty will go on sale from the beginning of November, and the manufacturer has set its price at 249 dollars (approximately 5 crowns in conversion). That's $700 less than what the sibling sells for.
